PA Office of Attorney General to Speak at Free Community Workshop
(LEBANON) – The Financial Literacy Project of Lebanon County, administered by P.R.O.B.E., welcomes Racheline Sherron, Senior Agent from Pennsylvania’s Office of Attorney General, Health Care Section. Ms. Sherron will be presenting a free community workshop on “Navigating the Health Care Industry.”
This workshop will inform the public of what the Health Care Section does and different ways that it can help you. It will also discuss different unfair or deceptive business acts or practices that have been used to deceive Pennsylvanians. The workshop will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 6:30 PM at the PA CareerLink, Lebanon County, 243 Schneider Drive, Lebanon. This workshop is free, but pre-registration is required. Interested persons can phone P.R.O.B.E.’s office at 273-2090 to register.
When describing the Health Care Section, Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett states, “You’ve heard the stories, or maybe you’ve lived them: an insurance company denies treatment your doctor tells you is medically necessary; health care providers delay with the insurance companies so long that the filing period expires; insurance companies delay paying hospitals and doctors with the result that your account is turned over for collection; or, you can’t get authorization to see a specialist that your doctor thinks is necessary. If you are experiencing these types of problems, you can turn to the Health Care Section for help.” Among the first of its kind in the nation, the Health Care Section helps Pennsylvanians navigate the complex terrain of the health care industry. It helps protect the rights of health care consumers to a fair and equitable marketplace.
The Financial Literacy Project of Lebanon County provides free community workshops on a variety of financial literacy topics and free one-on-one money management counseling to any resident of Lebanon County.
