· Awards range from $500 to $5,000

· Women 40+ who are seeking new job skills, training and educational opportunities to support themselves and their families

· Moderate to lower incomes and limited financial resources

Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation for Low-Income Women and Children

· Accepted from May 1, 2009 to July 1, 2009

· Five Education Support Awards up to $2,000 each

Women’s Independence Scholarship Program

· Applications accepted continuously

· Survived intimate partner abuse & has been separated from their abuser a minimum of one year

· Has applied to or is officially accepted into an accredited course of study

· Demonstrates a critical need for financial assistance

· Has sought services from a non-profit, domestic violence agency for a minimum of 6 consecutive months, and this agency is willing act as sponsor by mentoring and providing support to the student throughout her educational experience.

· $250,000 awarded to various recipients

The Martha M. Dohner Memorial Scholarship

· Deadline – May 18, 2009

· American Association of University Women, Harrisburg Branch

· Female student attending an accredited college or university located in Dauphin
or Cumberland county, having completed at least 15 credits toward an
undergraduate degree by the end of May 2009
•· Demonstrated academic achievement, with a GPA of 3.25 or higher

· Award given is $1000
