One Woman’s Story
She was tired. Everything seemed to be going wrong all at once, with no end in sight. She lost her job when she could not afford childcare and her apartment when she lost her job. Living in a shelter and working with a social worker, she was out of solutions. After lamenting to a friend, she was referred to PROBE. She was embarrassed and shy when she completed her registration for the program, but she was determined. She was going to make a change, so she spoke up. She signed up for a career readiness class and each day she shined brighter. Upon arriving she was reminded frequently to speak up. By the time the class ended, she was offering advice and helping her peers through the material. Only a few weeks after finishing the class, she found a post for her perfect job. With her PROBE resume and support, of course she got it. She is amazing! Now, she has her own place, her son is healthy, and she is crushing it at work!
